Your Mission

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for keeping all our services running smoothly. Every incident counts, and our SREs have the drive to find issues and work with team members to resolve them immediately. SREs are pragmatic operators with sound engineering principles to run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Our SREs will engage in the whole lifecycle of the service (from inception to refinement) through system monitoring, documentation, and process improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Establish, track, and optimize operational metrics and targets in line with SRE principles (SLO/SLI, error budgets) using tools such as Prometheus, DataDog, AWS CloudWatch
  • Maintain our services by constantly measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Quickly isolating, documenting and resolving business and infrastructure data issues (feeds problems, platform availability, etc.)
  • Scale systems through automation and pushing change to improve reliability and velocity
  • Respond to incidents and drive change to prevent incidents from reoccurring
  • Design and implement tools for automated deployments
  • Review Architecture / Infrastructure, make recommendations & decisions to ensure reliability requirements are met

What You Should Have

  • You are naturally curious and highly motivated with a passion for high performing scalable systems. You love debugging issues and won’t let a problem go until you have found the root cause and a way to fix it. You also love automation!
  • You could also be an “Ops" professional that can seek out and anticipate problems before they happen and take action to avoid them
  • 3+ years experience in SRE or DevOps engineering, including test automation, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud infrastructure
  • Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc..)
  • Understanding of cloud vendors such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Heroku (we are using AWS & Heroku)
  • Domain knowledge in software development (Docker, OpenStack, Kubernetes), programmability (Python, Javascript), automation (Ansible, Terraform) and DevOps related tools (Git)
  • Experience using automated confirmation management tools (Terraform / Chef)
  • Developing pipelines using CICD tools: (Github Actions is a plus)
